General Information

The thyroid gland is important for regulating how your body uses energy in your body cells and system functioning that may result in fatigue, weight gain or loss, increased blood pressure, hair loss, or a persistently fast heart rate. If there is a thyroid level imbalance in your body, you may be more susceptible to heart disease, infertility and fatigue.

This panel includes the following tests:

Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): TSH indicates whether the thyroid is underactive or overactive. High TSH levels suggest an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), while low TSH levels suggest an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).

Free T3 (fT3): It measures the active thyroid hormone in the bloodstream, helping to assess thyroid function. Abnormal levels can indicate thyroid issues.

Free T4 (fT4): It measures the precursor to T3, another important thyroid hormone, and helps assess thyroid function. Abnormal levels can indicate thyroid problems.
